Specialist clinical supervision for OTs working with children.

With the pace of the typical working day, there often isn’t time to grab a few minutes and reflect. Yet we know we should and we know that good mentoring and clinical supervision is critical to our professional development. Decades later I still seek clinical supervision.

When our chance for clinical supervision comes around we tend to get bogged down in “talking about a child”. For me clinical supervision is way more than this. It should be a much more challenging process of evaluating what knowledge you have applied and what you have done well, identifying your knowledge and service gaps and scaffolding learning to do it differently next time. It sounds easy doesn’t it, but for knowledge to be turned into action it is more than being told what to do, it is a skilled process of being coached to self-evaluate, explore, apply and review.

I have privilege of providing clinical supervision to individuals and teams globally. It is extraordinary to witness the energy, creativity and dedication with which occupational therapists serve their young client. I invite you to invest in your own occupational therapy professional development through individualised clinical supervision.

Enjoy the opportunity to discuss children and families with complex or specific needs with a master clinician who draws on nearly thirty years of clinical OT experience.

Take the opportunity to safely explore personal or organisational challenges that shape your work. We all know that sometimes the service we provide to children and families is hamstrung by tricky workplace and manager challenges. An independent pair of ears is needed to work through and find solutions to these issues.

Professional supervision will provide a sounding board for your current thinking, a confidence boost that you are on the best track for your clients. It will also energise your work providing a springboard into lovely new individualised professional learning opportunities.

Knowledge-into-ActionYour professional supervision will neatly fit into your schedule, morning, evenings and Saturday’s are all possibilities. We may be able to meet personally and we will also work via phone and Skype.

Small group sessions provide a dynamic alternative and may suit you and your colleagues. Absolutely fine to gather a small group of like-minded colleagues and share up the costs and the support.
