Coaching sounds great, but what is it exactly?

Coaching has many different definitions, the International Coaching Federation beautifully defines coaching as “partnering with clients in a thought – provoking and creative process to maximise their personal and professional potential. Coaches honour the client as the expert on his of her life and work and believe that every client is creative, resourceful and whole.

Standing on this foundation the coach’s responsibility is to:

  • Discover, clarify and align what the client wants to achieve
  • Encourage client self discovery
  • Elicit client generated solutions and strategies
  • Hold the client responsible and accountable.

This process helps clients dramatically improve their outlook on work and life, while improving their leadership skills and unlocking their potential.” ICF website 2015.

My business is good, how do I get it to great?

Not all clinicians make strong managers as it is a completely different skill set. I hear about the constant juggle of working in the business as a clinician and on the business as a manager.
